Your data belongs to you. ## Acceptance of Terms By downloading, installing, or using Jotaid ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. ## License & Usage - Jotaid grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. - You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App. - You may not redistribute or sublicense the App to third parties. ## Your Data - All notes and content you create in Jotaid belong to you. - Your data is stored locally on your device and optionally in your personal iCloud account. We have no access to it. - You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data. ## AI Features & Third-Party Services - AI features require your own API key from supported providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek). - Content sent to AI providers is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. - Jotaid is not responsible for the output, availability, or pricing of third-party AI services. ## Knowledge Base Server (macOS) - On macOS, Jotaid Pro can run a read-only local server so that AI agents you authorise can read your notes. It is **off by default** and only runs while you have switched it on and Jotaid is open. - Anyone holding the access token can read every note within the scope you have selected. You are responsible for giving the token only to software you trust, for limiting the readable scope to what that software needs, and for regenerating the token if you believe it has been exposed. - What an authorised agent does with your notes after receiving them — including whether it transmits them elsewhere — is determined by that agent and its provider, and is outside Jotaid's control. Jotaid is not responsible for the conduct of third-party software you authorise, nor for any loss arising from it. ## Purchases & Subscription - Jotaid Pro can be unlocked via a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase — all three unlock the identical full Pro feature set; core features (including Inbox) are always free. - The monthly and yearly subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends; manage, switch plan or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. The one-time purchase is billed once and does not renew. - All purchases and renewals are managed via the Apple App Store and subject to Apple's terms; refunds are handled by Apple — please refer to Apple's refund policy. ## Disclaimer Jotaid is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements. Use at your own risk. ## Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jotaid and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to data loss. ## Changes to These Terms We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
